Evergreen Colorado Winter Events

Evergreen Colorado has indoor and outdoor events in the winter. For outdoor winter activities, ice skating on Evergreen Lake and polar plunging into Evergreen Lake are two popular things to do. Here is a list of upcoming events this winter in Evergreen CO.

Winterfest – November 9, 2019

Winterfest is a one-day community festival of handmade gifts and more. It is held indoors on “Main Street” at Evergreen High School. Winterfest has an excellent reputation as one of the best indoor holiday shows in the Denver area with a fabulous selection of gallery quality fine art and unique crafts for the holidays. Performances by the Evergreen Chorale and Evergreen Children’s Chorale add to the festival spirit, and Santa’s Workshop keeps the younger crowd busy with holiday craft activities while parents shop.

Winterfest is hosted by the Center for the Arts Evergreen, a nonprofit organization whose mission is “To promote and cultivate artistic excellence in the visual and performing arts in order to enrich the art experience in our mountain community.” Proceeds from Winterfest go to support arts programming year-round. Event time is 9am to 4pm. Admission is free.

Annual Holiday Walk – December 6, 2019

This annual event brings the community to downtown Evergreen to enjoy the holiday festivities. The holiday walk is a free, family friendly event that goes from 5pm to 9pm. Enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides and drink hot chocolate while you watch Santa and Mrs. Claus turn on the lights on the community holiday tree. Local businesses are open.

Evergreen Skate the Lake – December 31, 2017 – 6:00 PM

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Evergreen Lake House with the annual Skate the Lake event. Lace up your ice skates and enjoy the beautiful mountain lake which is lit up for a night of ice skating under the stars. This is a family-friendly alcohol-free event that includes ice skating, fireworks, fire pits, food trucks, live music and a DJ.

The annual Skate the Lake event is sponsored by and is a fundraiser for Drive Smart. Drive Smart is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing traffic related fatalities and injuries. Drive Smart develops solutions to transportation safety issues by changing driving attitudes and behaviors in partnership with schools, businesses, civic, community and government agencies.

Evergreen Lake Plunge – January 1, 2020 – 12:00 Noon

Start off the New Year by experiencing an exhilarating plunge into the winter waters of Evergreen Lake! On New Year’s Day at noon you can join other brave folks and be part of an elite group of plungers, and you will be supporting the programs of Drive Smart and Evergreen Parks & Recreation District (EPRD) Special Needs Group. This is the 10th anniversary of Evergreen’s famous polar plunge event. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 on the day of the event.
