Summer Concert Series, May – July

Evergreen Park & Recreation District presents the 2019 Summer Concert Series at Evergreen Lake House. These free concerts run every other Wednesday from May to July, 5-9 PM. You can bring a picnic and enjoy the music from area bands. Lake parking is limited, so park at Wulf Rec Center or Christ the King Church and take the free shuttle. For more information please visit

Evergreen Jazz Festival, July 26-28

The Evergreen Jazz Festival is an annual 3-day celebration of traditional jazz, an art form unique to America. This festival is internationally known for its world-class musicians who perform at 5 intimate venues in a beautiful mountain setting. This year’s festival features 11 bands and over 75 hours of live Big Band, Dixieland, Swing, Blues, Boogie and Ragtime music. Visitors describe this event as Evergreen’s premier musical event. Red Rocks Amphitheater

Shadow Mountain Gallery presents “Western Art Show” featuring 12 artists exploring western themes during the month of June. In July and August, the gallery presents “Hummingbirds and Friends.” This showing features 25 artists’ imagery of birds and mountain animals. For more information, please visit

Summerfest, July 20-21

Summerfest is a family-friendly festival of art, music and beer. It happens at the Buchanan Park athletic fields. This event features over 120 artists and craftspeople from around the nation who create beautiful handmade treasures and works of art for sale. The artists represent many different mediums from ceramics, glass, metal, painting, photography, sculpture, wood, digital art, fiber, jewelry, mixed media and more.

This event also features the Palette of Brews, Evergreen’s premier beer tasting event. This tasting is only on Saturday. You can also purchase other beer, wine and margaritas. For more information, please visit

Evergreen Fine Arts Festival, August 24-25

The 53rd annual Evergreen Fine Arts Festival is located in the Hiwan Homestead Heritage Grove on Meadow Drive. This event is a juried fine art show under the pine trees in Evergreen, and features local music, food and beverages. This art show is for art lovers and collectors who like sculpture, painting, wood, photography, jewelry, glass and other whimsical creations. For more information, please visit

Evergreen Rodeo

Evergreen Rodeo, June 15-16

The PRCA Pro Rodeo in Evergreen CO is a tradition that dates back to the 1920’s when cowboys and ranch hands from the many ranches in the Rocky Mountain foothills would hold a friendly rodeo competition. Today the PRCA Pro Rodeo event draws world-ranked rodeo contestants and the best rough stock around. The family-friendly Rodeo Parade is on Saturday, June 15 in downtown Evergreen CO. Dam Ducky Derby

Benefit for Evergreen Downtown Business Association, August 3

Downtown Evergreen is transformed into a fun, family-oriented carnival with games, food, a bouncy house and live music. The highlight of the festivities occurs at 1:00 when numbered ducks are dropped into the creek from an Evergreen Fire and Rescue ladder truck. For more information please visit

Running Events in Evergreen

Evergreen Park & Recreation District organizes several races as part of the Evergreen Trail Racing Series. There are five trail running events in parks around the foothills. The race distances range from a 5k to a half-marathon to the top of Bergen Peak, which is a 2,000 foot vertical climb. Race participants must bring their own water bottles because all races are cup-free. Here are the races:

May 18 – Elk Meadow 5K & 10K

The Elk Meadow 5K & 10K leads runners throughout the rolling hills of Elk Meadow Open Space Park.

June 1 – Bergen Peak Half-Marathon

Bergen Peak Half-Marathon runners will endure the rolling hills of Elk Meadow and the strenuous switchbacks of Bergen Peak and Too Long Trail, ascending approximately 1,500 feet.

July 13 – Evergreen Mountain 15K

The Evergreen Mountain Trail Race features over nine miles of peaks and valleys in Alderfer/Three Sisters Park, where runners pass the rock formations called the Three Sisters and Little Brother as they weave their way throughout the course and ascend Evergreen Mountain, an elevation gain of over 1,000 feet.

Aug 3 – Staunton State Park 20K

The Staunton State 20K takes runners on a beautiful journey through Colorado’s newest state park, in Conifer. Runners will start at 8,215 feet of elevation and climb to 9,579 feet at the Eagle Cliff Overlook.

Oct 12 – Glow Run

The Glow Run is a one-of-a-kind glow in the dark experience. The goal of this event is not to see how fast you can run but to enjoy a dark run with your friends and family. This event features s’mores and non-alcoholic hot beverages after the run. Glow in the dark necklaces will be provided. It begins at Buchanan Recreation Center at 6 PM.

Freedom Run, July 4

The Freedom Run is a 5k race sponsored by and benefits Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice. This family-friendly and dog-friendly race includes a post-race party. This event features a bounce house, face painting, balloon sculptures, games, refreshments, music and prizes. The race begins at Evergreen Middle School and ends at Nick’s Pro Fitness. Triple Bypass, July 13

The Triple Bypass Bicycle Ride is recognized as one of the premier cycling events in the nation. Celebrating its 31st Anniversary, the Triple Bypass takes you on a gorgeous tour through the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains from Evergreen to Avon Colorado.  Leaving from the Evergreen area, you will travel 120 miles on closed roads and paths to Avon, Colorado. Evergreen Town Race, August 4

The Evergreen Town Race is both a 5k and 10k race that goes up and down Upper Bear Creek Road with a finish near Evergreen Lake. The race course is one of the most scenic and fastest races in Colorado. For more information, please visit
